Book Notes

Which RMJI donghua changes still fit the book?

A reader’s check on the Mulian-arc complaints: extra scenes, and a Han Li who may talk more. No episode numbers. The war chapters were not reread.

Scope: not an episode guide. The novel passages this site has checked are still chapters 1–4 and 6–8. Chapter 5 was not checked. The Mulian war in the book was not reread for this note. Donghua scenes below are only what one commentary already described. No extra frames, lines, or runtimes.

Public listings call this stretch of the year-long adaptation the Mulian war. This page does not pin an episode number or a broadcast day. The question is narrower. If you like the novel, which complaints about added scenes and shifted people still hold?

Is an added scene a betrayal?

Not by itself. “The book skipped this fight” is a weak charge. A long serial is full of people who show up, do one job, and leave. Animation can spend time on a clash the prose passed in a line. That is the form doing its own work.

The change that fails is the other kind of addition: the highlight arrives before the person does. On 6 October 2026, a Guochuang Manhua piece on NetEase put the anger on Li Yingning. It says viewers are left with a blade planted in the ground, a blade flourish, and a Core Formation cultivator skipping courtesy in front of someone who may be Nascent Soul, while her tie to Mo Caihuan and the hardship behind her barely get told. This note has not watched those episodes and will not invent a minute count. The direction of the complaint fits the book. People stick because of a situation first. The move comes after.

Rank is the floor, not the mood

The opening already treats access as a practical fact, not as atmosphere. The opening guide records the checked scene: the trip depends on adults, and a purse changes hands in private before the child can go up the mountain. This page does not recite later ranks. How a weaker person stands in front of a stronger one is already visible there.

So if the commentary’s scene is accurate, a Core Formation cultivator twirling and planting a blade at someone who might be Nascent Soul does not hold up. The cut is not a line of dialogue. It is the distance between strengths. Once that distance is gone, later danger gets cheaper. The same piece sets Sun Huo’s deference beside her. This note did not open another episode to check him. If that contrast is fair, the problem is sharper. One person keeps the rule. Another spends it on a pose. Readers will scold the pose.

Does a talkative Han Li break the book?

The opening guide stops at money and access before the gate. The Han Li note stays with chapters 3–4: he looks first, and rivalry still makes him wrong. Caution there is a tool for someone weak. It is not a slogan, and it is not a promise that he never misses.

That NetEase piece also says this season’s Han Li steps forward more and sighs more, and that some of the anger at Li Yingning is really anger at him. The frames were not checked here either. If he moves only after the danger is specific, that is the same habit, only louder, and the adaptation can survive it. If he explains his feelings to the audience every week, that is a different novel. Chapters 3–4 already hold both seeds: looking, and looking wrong. What they do not hold is an episode number. This page will not supply one.

Sources and limits

The book link is the Chinese original on Qidian. On 7 October 2026 that page still showed the finished status, the author Wang Yu, 767.59万 characters, and a description that said 2,611 chapters. The scene limit remains the chapters named above. The adaptation argument comes from the Guochuang Manhua article on NetEase dated 6 October 2026. No view counts, no quoted dialogue, and no claim that those scenes were watched for this note.
