Tales of Herding Gods: where to start 牧神记

Catalog only. The chapter bodies were not read. No quoted lines, no free-preview paste, no claim that a donghua scene equals a chapter.

Search 牧神记, Tales of Herding Gods, Qin Mu, or the pen name 宅猪, and the useful question is still smaller than 1931 catalog slots. Where do you start. The story shelf’s first title is 第一章 天黑别出门. The first row on the page is not that chapter. It sits in a volume named 作品相关, and its title is 谢谢大家的打赏！. A skip list will also offer the newest button, 牧神记新番外来啦！, timestamped 23 November 2022. Just above that button the catalog announces 择日飞升 and, older still, 《临渊行》. The original’s own last story label, 第一八二八章 牧神, then 牧神后记, is older than that button and is not the door either. Tap “latest” because a thank-you note or a newer Zhai Zhu title made you impatient, and you opened a flyer while the first door was still a chapter whose title is a curfew.

Start at 第一章 天黑别出门

Open 第一章 天黑别出门 on Qidian and follow that catalog from 正文卷, not from the top of the page. The Chinese original, 牧神记, is the book page. On 14 October 2026 the mobile page called it 完本, author 宅猪, category 玄幻·东方玄幻, last update 2022-11-23, with a stats line of 591.18万 characters. The catalog page listed 1931 chapters and marked the book finished. The public pitch was not copied here, and it is not a map from a thank-you note to a chapter.

The next catalog title was 第二章 四灵血. That is a label on a contents page. This note did not open it. A shelf name is a label. The thank-you note above the first story is not the door you skipped ahead to finish faster. The title of chapter 1 is already the instruction. The page puts eleven other titles above it anyway.

The newest button is a new-extra notice, and the front shelf is not the story

Above 正文卷 sits 作品相关, eleven titles. The first is 谢谢大家的打赏！. Later titles in that volume include fanfic side stories and 墨蘅106生日快乐~. Those are not chapter 1. Tap the first row because it is higher on the page, and you opened a receipt. Tap the bottom of that same shelf, and you opened a birthday line.

The same book page’s newest chapter was 牧神记新番外来啦！, chapter 736582966, timestamped 2022-11-23 16:29:17. The title names a new extra. It is not 第一章 天黑别出门. The title before it was 宅猪新书，择日飞升，已经发布！, chapter 709541811, dated 2022-04-19. Before that, 宅猪新书，《临渊行》已经上传, chapter 509145053, dated 2019-12-15. Those titles name other books. The story catalog’s own ending label is 第一八二八章 牧神, chapter 490015891, dated 2019-08-31, then 牧神后记, chapter 490016614, the same day. After that label the catalog fills up with notes and a volume named 弥罗宫主人番外. Those titles were not opened. A finished book can still grow a newest button. The button is not the beginning.

591.18万 characters is a warning label, not homework. You are deciding whether a first story title that is a curfew, on a book the page already calls 完本, is your kind of door. You are not signing up to finish a book this page did not read, and you are not signing up for a watch-order chart. Finished is a status. It is not a review.

Who should start here

Try it if a search for Qin Mu or 从哪开始看 sent you and you want this Chinese original, you can ignore a first button that is a thank-you note, and you can ignore a newest button that is really a new-extra notice. Same catalog habit as the A Will Eternal opening guide: that page starts at 第一章 他叫白小纯, the shelf above it is a trailer, and its newest button announces 光阴之外. A finished catalog whose newest button names a sequel is the Swallowed Star opening guide, which starts at 第一章 罗峰. Those pages used the contents list and did not read the chapters.

Leave it if you want a newcomer’s first chance at training, checked scene by scene, or a mystery about whose name you woke up wearing. Those doors are the RMJI opening guide and the Lord of Mysteries opening guide. Those pages stay inside chapters they actually checked. This one does not pretend to. The shelf is the Tales of Herding Gods reading series.
