Perfect World Opening Guide: Start at the Prologue

Catalog only. The chapter bodies were not read. No quoted lines, no later plot, no claim that an animation episode equals a chapter.

Search 完美世界, or Perfect World, after the donghua or before it, and the useful question is still smaller than the book. Where do you start, what does the door look like, and who should knock. The catalog’s first story is a prologue. Chapter 1 comes second. Skip lists love a book this long. Skip lists are how you walk past the door.

Start at 序章 大荒

Open 序章 大荒 on Qidian and follow that book’s own order. The Chinese original, 完美世界, is the book page. On 12 October 2026 the mobile page called it 完本, author 辰东, last update 2024-10-22, with a stats line of 658.45万 characters. The description said it had been updated through 2,090 chapters. The catalog’s first story entry was 序章 大荒. The next title was 第一章 朝气蓬勃. The one after that was 第二章 骨文. Those are labels on a contents page. This note did not open the text.

The same book page’s “latest chapter” was not a story chapter. It was titled 《夜无疆》已肥，可以看了. Same kind of promo that sits in the newest slot on Shrouding the Heavens, the other finished Chen Dong catalog on this shelf. Handy if you wanted an ad. Useless as a reading start. The catalog also lists notices before the prologue: a new-book announcement, a subscription plea, and an animation launch line. Those are posters. The story starts at 序章 大荒.

What the opening is, from the catalog

The public description sells the same place the first title names: a youth walking out of 大荒. That is the pitch on the book page. It is not a scene this page read, and it is not a summary of what happens after the prologue. The description also names 石昊 among the main characters and advertises a 完美世界 animation. The animation is a poster on the same page. It is not the prologue, and this note does not line episodes up with chapters.

2,090 chapters is a warning label, not homework. You are deciding whether a wilderness title is your kind of door. You are not signing up to finish the book tonight. If you skip the prologue because it is not numbered 1, you skipped the first story entry. Chapter 1 is the next label, 朝气蓬勃, and it is still a label.

Who should start here

Try it if you want a finished Chinese original by the same author as 遮天, a huge chapter count you can see before you commit, and an opening that announces itself with a place name instead of a classroom. The scale is the joke and the promise: the catalog is long, the first door is one free prologue, and nobody on this page will tell you which volume to skip.

The other Chen Dong door on this site is the Shrouding the Heavens opening guide. That catalog’s first story is chapter 1, a bronze coffin. This catalog’s first story is the prologue. Both pages used the contents list and did not read the chapters.

Leave it if you want a short book, a public ranking fight in the first scene, or a mystery about whose name you woke up wearing. Those doors are the Battle Through the Heavens opening guide, the RMJI opening guide, and the Lord of Mysteries opening guide. Those pages stay inside chapters they actually checked. This one does not pretend to. The shelf is the Perfect World reading series.
