Toward the Dao novel: where to start reading

Catalog only. The chapter bodies were not read. No quoted lines, no free-preview paste, no claim that 作品相关, a restarted 第一章, or 后记 equals the first door.

Search Toward the Dao, Great Dao Toward Heaven, or 大道朝天, and the useful question is still smaller than 1045 catalog slots. Where do you start. The Qidian page does not print an English title. English searchers can use Toward the Dao for this book, so that is the name on this shelf. Great Dao Toward Heaven is the same door. The mobile search for 大道朝天 put this book first: book 1010496369, author 猫腻. The story shelf’s first title is 序, in the volume named 临江仙. The row above that volume is not the door. It sits in 作品相关: 说在前面. A preface about the book is not the first story row. The newest row the page offers is 后记（窗外的湖）, stamped 21 August 2020.

Start at 序

Open 序 on Qidian and follow that catalog from 临江仙, not from 作品相关 and not from the newest button. The Chinese original, 大道朝天, is the book page. On 14 October 2026 the mobile page called it 完本, author 猫腻, category 玄幻·东方玄幻, last update 2020-08-21, with a stats line of 300.12万 characters. The catalog page listed 1045 chapters and marked the book finished. The public pitch was not copied here.

The next catalog title was 第一章 三千里禁, listed 2017-10-15 09:44. That is a label on a contents page. This note did not open it. Twelve catalog titles begin with 第一章. The first of them is the row after 序, not a second novel. The next volume is also named 苏幕遮, and it restarts at 第一章青山蒙羞的第一天, chapter 390845279. A later volume with the same name continues at 第二十四章时隔三年又承剑, chapter 392128296. Same two characters on the volume, later number. If you want the start of this book, it is 序. A door at 开头 is the Nightfall opening guide. A door at 第一章 钟楼街的游行 is the The Guest opening guide. Those pages used the contents list and did not read the chapters.

The newest button is a last note

The same book page’s newest chapter was 后记（窗外的湖）, chapter 563392327, timestamped 2020-08-21 20:30. The title does not say chapter 1. The row before it is 第二十一章无涯, chapter 561035637. A row that says 后记 is the note after the story shelf, not the first page.

300.12万 characters is a warning label, not homework. You are deciding whether a first story title that is 序, on a finished book the page files under 玄幻·东方玄幻, is your kind of door. You are not signing up to finish a book this page did not read. Finished is a status. It is not a review.

Who should start here

Try it if a search for Toward the Dao, Great Dao Toward Heaven, 大道朝天, or 从哪开始看 sent you and you want this Chinese original by 猫腻, you can ignore 说在前面, and you can tell 序 from the twelve rows that begin with 第一章. A door at 开头 is the Nightfall opening guide. Those pages used the contents list and did not read the chapters.

Leave it if you want a newcomer’s first chance at training, checked scene by scene. That door is the RMJI opening guide. That page stays inside what it actually checked. This one does not pretend to have read a chapter. The shelf is the Toward the Dao reading series.
