The Guest novel: where to start reading

Catalog only. The chapter bodies were not read. No quoted lines, no free-preview paste, no claim that 作品相关, a restarted 第一章, or a flyer for 将夜 equals the first door.

Search The Guest, Jianke, or 间客, and the useful question is still smaller than 998 catalog slots. Where do you start. The Qidian page does not print an English title. English searchers already use The Guest for this book, so that is the name on this shelf. Jianke is the same door. The mobile search for 间客 put this book first: book 1223147, author 猫腻. The story shelf’s first title is 第一章 钟楼街的游行, in 第一卷　东林皆石. The rows above that volume are not the door. They sit in 作品相关, sixteen slots, from 为什么 through 新书《将夜》通告. A title that names another book is a shop sign. The newest row the page offers is 我的新书《将夜》请您品尝, stamped 5 September 2011.

Open 第一章 钟楼街的游行 on Qidian and follow that catalog from 第一卷　东林皆石, not from 作品相关 and not from the newest button. The Chinese original, 间客, is the book page. On 14 October 2026 the mobile page called it 完本, author 猫腻, category 玄幻·东方玄幻, last update 2011-09-05, with a stats line of 343.51万 characters. The catalog page listed 998 chapters and marked the book finished. The public pitch was not copied here.

The next catalog title was That is a label on a contents page. This note did not open it. Two catalog titles begin with 第一章. The second is 第一章 湖畔一匹夫, chapter 23681596, at the front of 第二卷　上林的钟声. A later volume with a similar name continues at Same stretch, later number. It is not a third novel. 第三卷 and 第四卷 put 第一章 after the volume name, so a search that only looks at the start of the title will miss them. If you want the start of this book, it is the first story row. A finished catalog whose first story is 序 下山 is a different book by the same writer. That one is the Way of Choices opening guide.

The newest button is a shop sign

The same book page’s newest chapter was 我的新书《将夜》请您品尝, chapter 34463764, timestamped 2011-09-05 16:20:30. The title does not say chapter 1. The row before it is A row that says 单章 is a note. It is not the first page. The story labels just above that note are 末章 美好的事情（中）, chapter 32741711, and 末章 美好的事情（下）, chapter 32741717. A row that says 末章 is a last label. A postscript for a different book is not this book’s door.

343.51万 characters is a warning label, not homework. You are deciding whether a first story title that is 第一章 钟楼街的游行, on a finished book the page files under 玄幻·东方玄幻, is your kind of door. You are not signing up to finish a book this page did not read. Finished is a status. It is not a review.

Who should start here

Try it if a search for The Guest, Jianke, 间客, or 从哪开始看 sent you and you want this Chinese original by 猫腻, you can ignore 作品相关, and you can tell 第一章 钟楼街的游行 from 第一章 湖畔一匹夫. A door at 开头 is the Nightfall opening guide. A door at 珠串, after a show, is the Joy of Life note. Those pages used the contents list and did not read the chapters.

Leave it if you want a newcomer’s first chance at training, checked scene by scene. That door is the RMJI opening guide. That page stays inside what it actually checked. This one does not pretend to have read a chapter. The shelf is the The Guest reading series.
