Key plot points
A flashback shows Jimmy leaving Marco in Cicero. Chuck’s defense required a legitimate job in Albuquerque. In 2002, after Chuck’s admission, Jimmy breaks down while calling bingo at a senior center and goes back to Cicero.
He and Marco fall into a week of scams. That week ends when Marco dies suddenly. Kim calls Jimmy: the Sandpiper case is large enough that HHM intends to work with Davis & Main in Santa Fe. The partners there know the elderly clients trust Jimmy, and they want to hire him.
Jimmy comes back to Albuquerque for the meeting, hesitates, and drives out of the courthouse parking lot. He asks Mike why the two of them did not keep the Kettleman money. Mike’s answer is that Jimmy had wanted to return it. Jimmy says he will not choose that again, and he drives off.
Character development
Marco’s death ends the Cicero partnership in the middle of the relapse, not after a lesson. The week of cons is cut off by loss rather than by a decision to stop.
Kim is the voice of the legitimate offer. Davis & Main is a door back into the case Jimmy built. He drives away from it. Mike is the last conversation, and it is about the Kettleman money, not about the interview.
Themes
The season ends on a refusal of the path the elder-law work had opened. This page does not treat that refusal as a completed change into the later lawyer persona. Seasons after this one are outside the guide.
What Jimmy once wanted, the return of the money, is now the choice he rejects. The episode shows the decision in the parking lot and in the conversation with Mike. It does not show every consequence.
What to watch for
Watch the bingo call. The elder-law performance fails in the room where that practice actually happens, and the failure is what sends him to Cicero.
Watch the parking lot. The meeting is available. He does not take it. Season 1 leaves the job unaccepted.
Easter eggs and fun observations
Marco is the Cicero partner from the Hero flashback in the season list. This finale’s entry sends Jimmy back to him for a week of cons and ends that week when Marco dies. The title is that person’s name, which both entries support.
Kim’s call in the list brings in Davis & Main of Santa Fe because those partners want the lawyer the elderly clients already trust. The hour is the offer and Jimmy’s hesitation. Seasons after this one stay outside the page.
Sources checked
Episode titles, numbers, U.S. premiere dates, writers, and directors for seasons 1 through 6 were checked on 2026-10-07 against the English Wikipedia articles for those seasons. The season 1 article lists an official AMC series address. On 2026-10-07 a request to that address returned AMC’s Page Not Found page (HTTP 400), so it is cited as the listed series page, not as a page this guide was able to read.
Two official AMC pages did open. The Central Europe series page states the creators, the regular cast, and a ten-episode debut season. Bob Odenkirk’s cast page on amc.com sits on the Better Call Saul path and identifies him with the series; it does not list season 1 episode credits, and those credits were not taken from it. This guide does not reproduce dialogue, subtitles, or another outlet’s recap.
