Key plot points
The Cousins collect Lalo’s bail money at a cartel site in Mexico. An informant phones to report that they are there. Lalo sends Jimmy to a remote pickup and pays him $100,000 to carry the cash. Kim does not want him to go. The list puts her objection as the difference between a lawyer and a drug dealer’s bagman, which is also the episode title. Jimmy says the job will be easy. The Cousins give him two bags.
On the way back, gunmen cut him off, take the money, and are about to kill him when an unseen sniper attacks. All but one die. The survivor escapes. The shooter is Mike, who leaves with Jimmy and the cash. Jimmy’s car breaks down. They push it off the road and walk across country to avoid the remaining gunman. They camp overnight and continue.
When Jimmy does not return, Kim asks Lalo where he is. Lalo will not say. The gunman keeps searching. Jimmy acts as a decoy and draws him in. Mike shoots him. The vehicle flips and is destroyed. Mike and Jimmy walk on.
Character development
Kim’s objection names the role she does not want for him. He takes the cash anyway. Mike is the person who keeps him alive and keeps the bags.
Lalo will not tell Kim the location. The informant’s call is the list’s first sign that the pickup was not private.
Themes
A job described as easy becomes a walk without the car. The list keeps the $100,000 fee and the two bags as the terms.
The survivor is drawn in by Jimmy and shot by Mike. The page does not treat that as the end of the desert.
What to watch for
Watch the two bags and the breakdown. The car goes off the road. The cash stays with them.
Watch the decoy. The list says Jimmy draws the gunman in, and Mike fires.
Easter eggs and fun observations
The season list uses the word bagman for the cash run Kim does not want Jimmy to take. That is the title’s sense here. The fee is $100,000.
The Cousins collect the money in Mexico, and an informant reports them. This page does not review later seasons or retell Breaking Bad.
Sources checked
Episode titles, numbers, U.S. premiere dates, writers, and directors for seasons 1 through 6 were checked on 2026-10-07 against the English Wikipedia articles for those seasons. The season 1 article lists an official AMC series address. On 2026-10-07 a request to that address returned AMC’s Page Not Found page (HTTP 400), so it is cited as the listed series page, not as a page this guide was able to read.
Two official AMC pages did open. The Central Europe series page states the creators, the regular cast, and a ten-episode debut season. Bob Odenkirk’s cast page on amc.com sits on the Better Call Saul path and identifies him with the series; it does not list season 1 episode credits, and those credits were not taken from it. This guide does not reproduce dialogue, subtitles, or another outlet’s recap.
