Docs and tools for building the page
When a blog and the official docs disagree, open the docs. This list is that kind of page: the project’s own site, not a roundup that rewrites it.
Nothing on this page matches that.
MDN
The web platform, written as a reference. When a tutorial and MDN disagree, believe MDN and then check the browser.
GitHub
The forge this site is built from. Issues, actions, and the code, in one login.
Stack Overflow
Old answers with dates on them. Sort by time when the accepted answer is from 2014 and your error is not.
npm
The registry. Read the weekly downloads, then read the license, then decide if you want that dependency.
Node.js
The runtime. Download the current or the LTS on purpose. “Latest” is a choice.
TypeScript
The handbook and the playground. A red squiggle is a claim you can test in the playground before you argue with it.
Visual Studio Code
The editor most of these tools assume. Extensions are other people’s code. Install fewer than you want.
Astro
The framework this site uses. The docs are the place to check a directive before inventing a client script.
Cloudflare
DNS, Workers, and the static assets this site deploys to. The dashboard is where the domain route actually lives.
Can I use
Browser support, with the version numbers. A green grid is not a reason to skip a fallback you still need.
web.dev
Google’s writing on performance, accessibility, and what their search docs point at when the topic is the page itself.
Python
The language, the docs, and the downloads. This site’s content checks are a Python script.
Rust
The language site and the book. A reasonable next language when you want the compiler to be rude on purpose.
SQLite
One file, a full SQL engine. The documentation is blunt and usually right.
PostgreSQL
The server database people mean when a project outgrows a file. The manual is the feature list.
Docker docs
Containers, documented by the company that ships the tool. Recipes on blogs go stale faster than this.
Vite
The dev server a lot of frontend tools wrap. When the error is in the bundler, start here.
Playwright
Browser tests that click the page. Use it when a screenshot is not the same as the button working.
DevDocs
Several references in one offline-friendly search. It mirrors upstream docs. Upstream still wins if they differ.
Regex101
A regular expression, explained, with a flavor switch. JavaScript and Python do not match the same way.
