Key plot points
A jump of several months reaches early 2004. Jimmy and Kim are drifting apart. Her arm has healed. She is doing well at Schweikart & Cokely, Mesa Verde’s expansion is on schedule, and she still finds time for the pro bono cases that satisfy her. Jimmy is planning a return to practice, including a search for an office. The phone resale is growing, and he uses the name Saul Goodman more often.
Huell is arrested for assaulting an officer who tries to make Jimmy stop the phone business. Jimmy brings Kim into the defense and wants her to smear the officer so the charge will be dropped. She refuses and says she has a better way.
Hector starts to recover, so Gus dismisses Dr. Bruckner. The list describes the result as a recovered mind left in a body that has not healed. Mike watches Werner’s crew. The work is slower than expected, the crew is frustrated, and Mike breaks up a fight.
Character development
Kim’s refusal draws a line around the defense. She will take the case and will not take the smear.
Gus’s dismissal of Dr. Bruckner stops the recovery at the mind. The list states that split and does not add a further treatment.
Themes
The months between the suspension year and early 2004 are compressed into a separation. Her practice expands. His street business takes the other name.
A lab that is behind schedule and a patient whose doctor is sent away are both interruptions of a plan. The list states both.
What to watch for
Watch the healed arm and the office search. The list uses those to mark the time jump and the distance between them.
Watch Dr. Bruckner’s exit. The name appears when Gus dismisses the doctor. The earlier entry had left the doctor unnamed.
Easter eggs and fun observations
The list dates the jump in early 2004 and says Kim’s arm has healed, which ties this hour to the crash in season 3. It does not define the episode title, so this page does not define it.
Huell is named again, still without a surname, as the man arrested for assaulting the officer. Saul Goodman is the alias the list says Jimmy uses more often. This page does not quote a pitch.
Sources checked
Episode titles, numbers, U.S. premiere dates, writers, and directors for seasons 1 through 6 were checked on 2026-10-07 against the English Wikipedia articles for those seasons. The season 1 article lists an official AMC series address. On 2026-10-07 a request to that address returned AMC’s Page Not Found page (HTTP 400), so it is cited as the listed series page, not as a page this guide was able to read.
Two official AMC pages did open. The Central Europe series page states the creators, the regular cast, and a ten-episode debut season. Bob Odenkirk’s cast page on amc.com sits on the Better Call Saul path and identifies him with the series; it does not list season 1 episode credits, and those credits were not taken from it. This guide does not reproduce dialogue, subtitles, or another outlet’s recap.
